Pilot Project Funding

It's a long time since last this blog was updated, for which I apologise.

The project has taken on a new form over the last while, and we've managed to secure funding to look for ways to support a pilot version of the project.

We'll be delivering the pilot project with the school and community of Ulva Ferry.

This pilot project will hopefully lead in to a full version of the project across Mull & Iona.

More info to come as the project develops.

Mull Schools Gaelic Project

Throughout the course of 2012 the schools on the Isles of Mull & Iona, off the West Coast of Scotland, will be following a project looking at the nature of Gaelic language and culture in our communities, local, nationally and internationally.

We will look at the topic through three distinct time frames:
  • Gaelic language and culture in the past.
  • Gaelic language and culture at present.
  • What is the future of Gaelic language and culture?
One of the project's principal aims is to define a strategy for cultural engagement through Gaelic, as defined by the participants themselves.

This blog will follow the progress of the project.
The name of the blog will change as the project comes in to fruition.
The majority of the posts on this site will be in English, but when possible there will be posts in Gaelic.
More information to follow soon!
